BOSWORTH HALL

The impressive stately home of Bosworth Hall actually comprises two houses, the Old Hall, and the 'new' Georgian Hall, together with various Victorian additions and sits in parkland on the eastern edge of the village.

SHEEP DOG TRIALS

Sheepdog trials were first recorded at Husbands Bosworth in 1905 in conjunction with various other sporting events in a village gala day, and continued until 1908. These trials attracted competitors from as far afield as the north of England, and Wales. A local class for farmers and shepherds within the radius of the Fernie & Pytchley Hunts was held following the Open Class.

ALL SAINTS CHURCH

The Parish Church of Husbands Bosworth is believed to stand on the site of an earlier Saxon church. The earliest parts of the present Church date from the late 12th or early 13th Century. In the early days it came under the patronage of the abbots of Leicester Abbey.

EDUCATION IN BOSWORTH

The first mention of schooling in the village of Husbands Bosworth is found in the Church Survey Book of 1619, which states: "...a Chapel on the North side of the Church [All Saints], where a School is kept...".
